As a dedicated homesteader, I am always striving to find innovative ways to be more health-conscious in every aspect of my life. This commitment extends beyond just the food we cultivate and consume; it encompasses the various products I utilize around our home, including cleaning supplies, personal care items, and, importantly, the cosmetics I apply to my skin. The journey towards a more natural and health-oriented lifestyle has led me to carefully evaluate the ingredients in everything I use.
Throughout this journey, I have experimented with countless recipes, exploring a wide array of ingredients that range from the common to the obscure. Some of these attempts have resulted in significant successes, while others have been colossal flops, leaving me with a trial-and-error learning experience that has been both frustrating and enlightening. Each failure has taught me valuable lessons about formulation and the importance of understanding how different components interact with one another, leading me to refine my approach over time.
One of the most impactful discoveries I made during this exploration was when I decided to abandon traditional liquid foundations altogether. After much experimentation, I finally developed a recipe for my very own Mineral Powder Foundation. This unique blend of natural minerals and skin-friendly ingredients has proven to be a game-changer for me. The combination works perfectly with my skin type, providing a lightweight finish that allows my skin to breathe. I appreciate that I can achieve a polished look without the heavy, cakey feel often associated with conventional makeup products. In fact, I often forget that I am even wearing makeup at all, as it seamlessly blends into my skin, enhancing my natural beauty rather than masking it. This newfound confidence in my cosmetic choices reflects my broader commitment to embracing a healthier lifestyle that prioritizes both my well-being and health
Mineral Powder Foundations are so expensive, you can make your own for just a few bucks.
Mineral Powder Foundation Recipe:

4 Tablespoons of Titanium Dioxide
2 Tablespoons of Arrowroot Powder
1 Teaspoon of Kaolin Clay

Use a Coffee Grinder and Grind for a total of 3 minutes. I usually grind for 1 minute then tap all the powder back to center.
Once you are done you are ready to add your color.
I use Iron Oxide to color my cosmetics, but you can use any Natural Colorants.
Iron Oxide Colors I used:
