Why do people want to start a homestead?
There are all different reasons why someone would want to homestead. What all homesteaders have in common is what homesteading gives them, which is a unique lifestyle. Homesteading isn’t for everyone, it is a lot of work depending on the size, time and eventually a lot of money.
Everyone has a conception of what a homestead life is. You can homestead on 1 acre or 50 acres. I believe homesteading is being as dependent on ones self vs on the system.
To some this would be a simple concept, others it could be an overwhelming concept. Our life experiences with certain skills will make or break anyone who is considering this lifestyle. Some could think they’d need to have all this fancy equipment, lavish buildings, fancy Coops etc.
What is the difference between Homesteading or farming?
This definition will vary depending on who you ask. My opinion is farming would be a bigger scale “homesteading” with bigger business in mind.
